Exploring Monoprint Workshop - 2 Part Series
Venue: The Shipyard Market, Porthleven, Cornwall
We are very excited to bring to you an introduction into the wonderful world of Monoprint, this 2 part workshop series starting 1st June 2026, is designed to help you learn this amazing print technique as well as finding your own art expression or breath new life into an already established art practice. With a focus on drawing and mark making, we will help you learn the fascinating art of Monoprinting through exploration, creative play and process.
In the first session we take an introductory look at mono, inking, framing, looking at mark making and drawing.
During the second session, we will working with organic matter, such as leaves and flowers and photos cut from magazines.
After being shown the methods you will have the chance to explore and work with which ever method you prefer, or mix them up and see what happens.
The beauty on Mono is its unpredictable and exciting nature, we welcome experimentation and exploration, we encourage curiosity and will be on hand to help should you need it.
We recommend the full 2 part course if you wish to tap into a structure and further develop your art practice, or, you may wish to book a one off workshop in this series that may be of interest specifically . This workshop is a developmental programme, we will work towards a final art piece over the 2 weeks and have many conversations as a group along the way, as well as being supported individually.

The Colour Alchemist Art Workshop
Venue: The Shipyard Market, Porthleven, Cornwall
Bring colour into your world with this exciting, bright and fun filled 4 part workshop series!
Deep dive in the science and soul of the palette. You will learn how to master the art of colour, while experimenting with a tactile blend of acrylic paints, collage and mixed media.
This hands- on creative art workshop series is the perfect space to discover you unique art voice and bring in colour to your creative practise.
This workshop is open to arty beginners, established artists and for those who wish to inject colour into any creative element of life! Taught by passionate local establish artists, you will be guided into colour exploration with an emphasis on your own style and outcome.
During this workshop we will delve into the theory of colour, work with mixed media, get stuck into collage and in the final workshop we will bring together all we have learned into a fabulous mash up of colour and texture, creating your own masterpiece.

See Like Lanyon - 2 Part Series
Venue: The Shipyard Market, Porthleven, Cornwall
This extortionary 2 part workshop series starting 3rd August 2026, is a brilliant introduction to the works of legendary artist Peter Lanyon. Deep dive into his world and allow his work to influence and shape your own art development. Hosted by artist Liz Dickinson - @steelworks.art who has a deep love of Lanyon’s legacy. Lanyon continues to inform Liz’s art practise and work, we are delighted to have Liz lead this exciting, dynamic and hands-on project that will inspire or rejuvenate your own artwork. In this workshop not only will we learn about Lanyon, but we will use experimental and creative processes to explore our own work, using media such a collage and a variety of mediums like charcoal, paint and graphite and see how Lanyon’s vision can inform our own!
Pater Lanyon was a British painter of landscapes leaning heavily towards abstraction and was one of the most important artists to emerge in post-war Brittan. Combining abstract values with radical ideas about landscape & figure, Lanyon navigated a course from Constructivism through Abstract Expressionism and his art legacy continues to inspire and influence many artists today.
We recommend the full 2 part course if you wish to further develop your art practice, or, you may wish to book a one off workshop in this series that may be of interest specifically. Path & Pencils - Sunset Walking & Drawing Workshop
4 Part Series
Venue: The Great Outdoors! Meet up point outside The Old Life Boat House, Porthleven (Just the other side of / up from the Ship Inn Pub ) 6.30pm meeting time every week.
What better way to see the beautiful village of Porthleven than at sunset, this golden hour guided drawing workshop will bring a new perspective to this amazing location! This gentle walking and drawing workshop series will take you around the village, guided by professional local artist Emma Frances. Discover drawing on location, with all your materials included. Each week we will investigate a different medium and work in sketchbooks and on paper!
We will navigate around the village starting outside the beautiful Old Life Boat House, stopping at different view points to draw and collect visual information along the way, walking around the harbour head, past the iconic Clock Tower we will make our way to the beautiful sea view point ( National Trust ) Parc-An-Als where we will rest for a while and then create some larger works on paper, based on the visual studies we have made along the way. This is a fantastic opportunity to see the best of Porthleven, take in some stunning views and make some beautiful works of art ‘En Plein Air’ - meaning ‘in the open air’.
This workshop will require walking on some uneven ground, such a cobble stones, gravel tracks and minor village roads and back streets. In the latter part of the workshop we will encounter a ‘not so terrible’ but steady incline, from the clock tower to Parc-An-Als vantage point. We will be stopping along the way for resting, drawing and walking. At our final destination, we will be sitting on a grassy cliff top over looking the stunning vista across Mounts Bay to make some final drawings as the sun sets.
PLEASE READ : This workshop will involve standing to draw, leaning, walking and sitting at ground level. We highly recommend bringing a hands free back pack for your pencil case and sketch book and for any personal belongings, something soft to sit on like a small towel or blanket. We encourage everyone to take a snack and water bottle, with suitable attire for the weather conditions on the day and with comfortable footwear! A hat to shade your eyes and sunglasses will make this experience much more comfortable if its very sunny. FULL T&C’S WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL UPON BOOKING. This workshop will run weather depending on the day, if not it will be rescheduled to a different day.

This workshop is a developmental programme, we will work towards a final art piece over the 4 weeks and have many discussions as a group along the way, as well as being supported individually. The over all duration of this work shop will be 2.5 hours aprox.
